Beyond Precious...Becious?

It's come down to the wire. I have like 2 weeks left and I'm more ready then I've ever been before. I gotta get outta here! I'm so done with school. I'm happy to get a higher education but I gotta start living ya know? I'm sure once I graduate and leave I'll miss it. Of course I'll just miss the experience and my friends but definitely not the academic part of it. Sure, I've learned valuable information for the rest of my life but I'm an adult now.

Great news is that one of my profs completely cancelled the final. So I only have one final, a paper and one more presentation and its diploma for me! I'm not sure why he would cancel the final but I'm thinking its because he doesn't feel like writing one...I wonder if my other teacher will feel that way...HA! Highly doubt that would happen twice. Again, you can see why I'm done with school. Mostly has to do with my EVIL art history teacher...you would think as a 22 year old, I would need to consider anyone at school to be evil but seriously...she bullies me. Once I have my diploma, I will not only send her a nasty  e-mail but I will also send one to the dean for good measure. Too far? Hell no! Freedom of Speech ok? That's what's up!

Alright I'm done ranting about school. Let's move on to something that makes me happy, my boyfriend. Now I know what you're thinking? Oh great here comes a lovestruck chick thats going to ramble on about her boyfriend. Well you're semi correct. Can I just say that I feel like the luckiest girl to have such a caring guy that loves to say 'I love you' It's just so refreshing and I love that he calls me princess. Oh and we've been falling asleep on Skype together! It's like falling asleep right next to him. I can't wait to do that!

Ok I think that takes care of my rants. As far as my channel on YouTube, I filmed a new video! It's my punishment video for not sending in a previous video on time. I actually had a lot of fun with this one! Kristi challenged me to a makeup tutorial. Not just any look, a look that would make a drag queen cringe. I've successfully completed this challenge and I'm looking forward to more. I suppose that's all I can share for now.

Oh yea almost forgot to mention I saw Tangled and it was amazing! Disney has yet to fail me!! It was an adorable twist to an old classic fairy tale which is always very refreshing. I would recommend it to guys and gals alike. You'll enjoy it, I promise!

SO much to be thankful for...

Oh 2010, you have been a trying year indeed. From the drama of the Disney College Program to the stress of my last semester of college. I think I've been through quite a lot this year but the important thing is that I am here, I'm safe, I'm healthy and I'm about to eat some delicious foodz of the Thanksgiving variety!

I guess I should list off the things I'm thankful for so here it goes:
-My family who loves and supports me in any crazy thing I do in life.
-Friends who are always there for me
-My puppy who is recovering from her sprained knee and is as cute as ever :)
-My boyfriend, Mike for being my knight in shining armor. I love you baby!
-Surviving the Disney College Program and loving every minute of it!
-Harry Potter
-Star Wars
-My light saber
-Having a job after graduation and making salary pay woohoo
-Skype for keeping my long distance relationship alive!]
-GRADUATING COLLEGE OMFG COOL!
-Hulu for letting me catch up on Glee!
-Life in general because you can't take it for granted so enjoy life and embrace it!

Those are pretty much all I can list off the top of my head for now!

Oh! I almost forgot to mention some awesome news I got which is still under wraps until after the holiday season. My parents have purchased a new but smaller home right down the street. Even though I love my home...and its the longest we've ever been in any house (7 years)...since my brother and I are no longer kids and we're pretty much on our own, my parents are downgrading a bit. I've seen the plans and I think its a wonderful idea. There's also plenty of backyard area for Hazel to run around and have fun! I'm glad my parents chose to live on Happy Valley. I've never had a problem with this area and I really did love living here! Makes me wonder if I should still move to California...I'm sure I'll still move to Cali but when I'm older, I'd like to come back to North Phoenix and live the rest of my days there. I sure hope Mike will still be in my plans by then. I guess we'll have to see. For now, I just can't wait to see him in January!

Well, I'm off to spend time with the fam and eat some deliciousness :) Wishing everyone a Happy and safe Thanksgiving! Hope everyone eats their weight in taters and turkey!

Jimmy Answers Little Boy's Stolen Backpack Plea

This was super cute! I love Jimmy Kimmel, I watch his show all the time and if I don't catch it live, I'll watch it on YouTube. I came across this video and I was just so impressed with what he did for this little boy! I love you Jimmy!!!!

It's hard out here for a pimp

The title has nothing to do with this post, I just wanted to make that my title.

Now that I have your attention, let's talk about school shall we? As we all know, this is my last semester of school and as of today, I have 30 days til graduation. But who's counting, right? I was really stressed out a couple of weeks ago and it was really affecting my sleep schedule and my attitude at work. I just turned in a really big project yesterday and its as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. It was basically a "media journal" in which we had to find articles and write about our opinions about it and write about how it ties in to what we learn in class. It wasn't a difficult project but it was tedious and there were a lot of things we had to include in our project and we had to decorate it and everything. I finished at 4a.m. the morning of, got some sleep then got up to turn it in. I was thrilled to just get rid of it.

It's all downhill from here! I have a 7 to 10 page paper to do for my art history class. Who am I kidding? It'll probably be 7 pages long...don't get my wrong, I love writing. I just don't like writing about art history. I'd rather write about what's going on in my life...oh wait, I already do that. I also have to deal with my journalism capstone. A little backstory: I'm an Electronic Media and Film major but I couldn't get into the capstone because it wasn't available this semester. So they stuck me in the next best thing, journalism. I've taken journalism classes before but I'm just not a fan of reporting. I love the multimedia side so I'm having a little trouble in the class but I'm pretty sure the prof is taking it easy on me because of my unique situation. I can't wait to graduate and get outta here! I'll be living at home for free!

All I want to do for the next year or two is save up money so that I can buy a house in California and live out there. I don't know why but I feel like I would have a lot of opportunity in California. I am still thinking about returning to the Walt Disney Company and if I moved to Cali it could be an option for me. If I decide to stay with Bank of America, I can easily transfer to Cali. If I wanted to go into the film industry, I could if I lived in Cali. My boyfriend, Mike LOVES World of Warcraft and if he could get an internship with Blizzard, he would move out with me sooner...in Cali! All signs and opportunities point to California! I'm excited that Mike would move out here with me. I know we really care about each other and most importantly, we fit in each other's plans.

He's coming out to visit me in 47 days...I haven't seen him since July! I cannot wait for him to visit so that I can show him where I work and my house. My parents get to meet in person rather than on skype. By the way, I must say that skype has really helped this relationship. Actually getting to see his face makes me smile every time! He's so cute when he smiles...ok I gotta stop haha I'm in class and I'm totally not paying attention.

I feel really bad that I haven't posted a vlog for my channel in awhile...Kristi is already coming up with a punishment for me. I'm pretty sure I'll have time to film tomorrow night. Actually, that's a fantastic idea! I"ll be at the movie theatre waiting for the Harry Potter 7 premiere! It's perfect! Maybe its not what our theme was about but it'll get me some brownie points with Kristi :) Alright, I think thats all I have to complain about today!

30 days til graduation
47 days til Mike's visit
1 more day til Harry Potter 7 part 1

Till then, stay classy

Star Wars, makeup video games and some bling, these are a few of my favorite things

Not your average girl. What exactly does that mean? What does it even mean to be average? The only reason I would assume I'm not average is because I'm into lots of things that most girls wouldn't typically be interested in. But here's where I get confused...I'm not a tom boy by any means. Sure, I'm a huge Star Wars fan, I love video games, World of Warcraft, Big Bang Theory, etc. I guess you could say I'm your typical geek. However, I have this other side to me where I love dressing up and wearing makeup. Like I said in my last post, makeup is like an art to me. I'm the type of person that wouldn't mind spending 27 dollars on a good foundation.

Mac Cosmetics would have to be my favorite brand of makeup. I've tried several different brands and I find that Mac, even though its expensive, works well with my skin and such. Whenever I get the chance, I like to wear crazy colors and do elaborate designs on my eyes. It's my way of painting...I find that the face is my canvas and I have the ability to create whatever I want. Being a photographer on the side, I enjoy seeing studio shots of different makeup styles. If you ever get a chance to go to the Mac Cosmetics website, I definitely would. Right on their main page, they'll have fabulous images showcasing their products. Images from their site inspired me to put together an all makeup/fashion portfolio for my final photography class. Here are some examples of my favorites:

Photography is just so much fun :)

Moving on...I think the biggest reason why I'm such a big Star Wars fan is because of my dad. I'm close to both my mom and dad but I like to think of myself as a "Daddy's girl" and when we have our bonding time, we always watched Star Wars. It was usually on a quite Sunday afternoon and me and my dad would sit there with our surround sound and watch Episode 4,5 and 6 straight through and call it a day. By the time I was 13, I was able to do my homework and have it in the background and know exactly what part their at without even watching it. My dad loves Return of the Jedi but I think my favorite is Empire Strikes Back :) Hence, the poster you see behind me on most of my vlogs. I can't really explain why Star Wars is so awesome...it just is! I don't think anyone can argue that Han Solo is the best character in the trilogy. He's so badass and rough around the edges but at the same time, he can be chivalrous and kind when he wants to be.
In my opinion, chivalry is not dead. There are still plenty of gentlemen in the world...my boyfriend being a perfect example.

It never gets old when I'm talking to someone (usually a guy) about Star Wars and they're surprised at my knowledge! Besides, whats hotter than a chick with a light saber? Am I right? ...no really I do have my own light saber and I'm damn proud of it! And yea, I happen to love video games too! It's a shame I don't have that much time at the moment but once I graduate in about a month, I have a Wii with my name on it at home waiting for me. Funny story: So last Thanksgiving, Kristi came to my house in Phoenix for the week and we got Mario Galaxy and pretty much didn't leave the house until we finished that game. I don't kid around when I'm playing anything. I put a lot of time and energy into something...even Tetris! Omg I love Tetris! I think my favorite video game would have to be Legend of Zelda, specifically Ocarina of Time. And yes, I still have my n64 somewhere in the house haha. I'm pretty much a Nintendo girl fo life! My boyfriend is partial to his PS3 which is cool. He's actually more into World of Warcraft...I used to be into it. I wouldn't mind getting back into WoW, it just took up a lot of my time. I started back in my freshman year of college and couldn't stop playing! I made the decision to stop right before they came out with Lich King which killed me but its ok. I played on my boyfriends account for awhile which was fun. I know I can start back up whenever I wanted to and I'll have more time when I graduate which is what I'm looking forward to.

So a thought occurred to me yesterday. Whenever I bring up the movie Scott Pilgrim vs The World, no one ever knows what I'm talking about. I think its sad that the movie itself bombed in the movie theaters. I'm not even sure why it even bombed. I thought it was pretty awesome!! If you actually listen to the soundtrack, it's pretty badass!! I would definitely check it out on iTunes!! Which reminds me, I should probably get the DVD haha! I'm happy I only had to go to one class today and it was a class I didn't really have to go to but I went anyway. It's funny that this is my last semester and some of the classes I'm in are a joke and anyone could pass them ya know? Then again, there are other classes like my art history class in which I'm struggling to get through. I have nothing against art history, I just can't grasp the material. I'm just ready to graduate and get the hell outta here. And then I'll regret leaving and want to go back...I know it'll happen.

Honestly, the only thing I miss now is my boyfriend. We're long distance at the moment and thanks to daylight savings, we're now only 2 hours time difference which I think is pretty awesome. I could go into how we meet and such but I'll just save that for another post. I think I'm gonna get ready for some Zumba and I'm actually going out tonight? Wierd

That's all I have for today so stay classy world! -Kitty

An introduction of sorts...actually that's exactly what it is

So I suppose I could get the basics down right?

I'm Kitty, I am 22 years old and I'm on my last semester of college. Pretty cool, huh? Yea, I'm quite excited myself to get outta here and start my life. I suppose you could say I'm not your average girl. Don't get me wrong, I love to shop and makeup is like an art to me. I'm also called whats known in the YouTube community as a "nerdfighter" A nerdfighter is pretty much a person made of awesome and their sole purpose in life is to reduce world suck! This particular word was coined by Hank and John Green also known for their YouTube channels VlogBrothers and Brotherhood 2.0

You can check out their channel by clicking the link here: www.youtube.com/vlogbrothers

So why am I here you ask? Well many people like Hank and John have inspired me to show my creativity and allow the public into my life by creating a channel of my own. At first, it was just a simple channel where I periodically posted vlogs about me interning for The Walt Disney Company (I'll talk more about that later on) However, I wasn't that tech savvy, so they ended up being direct webcam uploads of me talking about the program and such. I was also EXTREMELY busy and didn't have much time to talk about anything because I had a million different things on my mind! It was certainly confusing...so after returning to school, I realized I missed the YouTube community. Therefore, with the collaboration of one of my best friends, Kristi, we created a channel where we would send videos back and forth to each other kinda like what the VlogBrothers do.

Kristi and I met at Northern AZ University (where I'm currently attending) and we instantly became great friends. We were quite fond of road trips and singing songs out loud and not caring what other people thought of us when we danced in public. It brought us close very fast. Alas, when I went off to intern for Disney, she went back to Washington state to continue her education closer to home. This is probably the main reason why we made this channel. It's a fun, creative way to keep in touch with each other and not lose track of whats going on in each other's lives. So if you're interested in checking out our collaboration channel please click here: www.youtube.com/2krazy2klassy

Each week, Kristi and I come up with themes and we show them through our videos! This past week was Review Week in which we both review a popular item and either recommend to the public or not. We also thought it would be neat to have a "word of the day" so to speak. Words that you can find on urban dictionary and such.

This is my review video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uG9p3TdnTY

And here is Kristi's:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebPBjelFRdQ

So now that I've done all my shameless plugs, I guess I should talk about that whole working for Disney thing, right? I mean, this sounds like every kids dream to work for the mouse! It's called the Disney College Program. This is a paid internship and it a unique opportunity for college students to work for a well established company and get that "real world" experience. It's paid AND they give you a place to live! If you decide you'd like to do the internship, you can choose to work for Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL or Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. I chose to work in Orlando because I wanted to be as far from Arizona as possible. It was truly an amazing experience and I recommend this program to pretty much everyone! If you'd like more information click here please: www.disneycollegeprogram.com

That was a good introduction I think! Well folks, that's all I have for you today! Until next time! Stay classy world!
